Sustainability at Churchill Park School
As a Green-Gold Enviroschool, we are proud to embed sustainability into the heart of our learning and culture. Guided by the Enviroschools Kaupapa —creating a healthy, peaceful, sustainable world through people teaching and learning together—we empower students to become leaders of environmental change.
Sustainability is woven into our curriculum through inquiry learning, real-world action, and a strong focus on kaitiakitanga (guardianship). Students explore biophysical, social, political, and economic connections while developing lifelong attitudes and practices that support a more sustainable future.
We explicitly teach key Enviroschools principles, including:
- Empowering students
- Learning for sustainability
- Māori perspectives
- Respect for diversity
- Building sustainable communities
Our goal is for every student to leave Churchill Park with the skills, values, and mindset to make a positive difference in their world.
