A very warm welcome back to everyone for Term 3. I hope you all enjoyed a restful break and had the opportunity to spend quality time with family and friends. A special welcome to our new families and their children, and to our international students who have joined our school community this term. Churchill Park School is a special place, known for its strong sense of community and welcoming environment. This was beautifully on display as our international students were warmly greeted by their class buddies, who immediately took them under their wing and helped them settle into school life. Over the next four weeks, our international students and their families will experience New Zealand, our education system, and a wonderful slice of Kiwi life. We are delighted to have them with us.

The winter mornings certainly make it that much harder to venture out of our cosy beds and into the day. As I leave for school each morning, I wake my teenage son, who is still happily snuggled under the covers, and I'm grateful he is now independent enough to get himself organised. It reminds me of the years when mornings were filled with the hustle and bustle of uniforms, breakfast, lunches, hair, teeth, forgotten shoes, and the constant encouragement to get out the door on time. Looking back, those years passed far more quickly than they felt at the time. Not every morning runs smoothly, and on those tougher days, it's easy to worry about our children or even question ourselves as parents. As we begin another busy term, I encourage you to be kind to yourselves. Let the small things stay as small things, celebrate the wins where you can, and remember that tomorrow always brings another opportunity for a fresh start.

Term 3 is always a busy and exciting one. Our senior students will be preparing and presenting their speeches, we look forward to our traditional Kiwi cross-country event, teams will once again test their problem-solving skills in EPro8, and our Recycle World Vision Fair will encourage our students to think about sustainability while supporting others. This much-loved event gives children the opportunity to donate toys and books they no longer need, with proceeds going towards sponsoring two children through World Vision.

As we move through the term together, I encourage you to keep the lines of communication open. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to touch base with your child's teacher. Addressing questions early often helps us work through small concerns before they become bigger ones, ensuring your child feels supported and able to thrive.
|
At Churchill Park School, we value working in genuine partnership with our families, particularly when children need a little more support or guidance. We hold high expectations for all of our students because we believe in their potential, and any feedback or conversations we have are always shared with the same goal in mind, to help your child learn, grow, and be the very best they can be. We care deeply about every child in our school and appreciate the trust you place in us as we work together to support their success.

Recycle Fair - Donations needed PLEASE
On Friday 21st August, we will be holding our biennial recycle fair to raise money to support our two sponsored World Vision students, Fahim and Hiya, from Bangladesh.
|
|
We are actively seeking quality books, games, puzzles and toys to support this worthy cause. We will also have a bake sale and would appreciate baking on the day.
|
|
|

School Payments
|
The School Donation remains at $525. Most parents will be entitled to claim a tax rebate - if you are a top tax rate payer a 33% reduction is available.
|
|
|
|
Please make school payments through your mykindo account. There are several methods to add funds to your account. Add regular topups if you'd like, then allocate to payments when you're ready, or just pay as you go. mykindo is also where you can order school lunches. Set up your kindo account.
|
|
NB: The school no longer has an EFTPOS terminal. All payments are to be made via kindo or DC, please. DC with your child's name to: 12-3027-0387931-000
