As we come to the end of a productive and positive term, I would like to take a moment to acknowledge our fantastic learners. It has been wonderful to see students engage in their learning, support one another, and demonstrate our school values each day.
|
I would also like to recognise the growing independence across the school. In particular, it has been a delight to see many of our new entrants settling in so well, developing confidence, routines, and a sense of belonging in such a short time. These early foundations are so important, and we are proud of the way our youngest learners are stepping into school life.
|
Unfortunately, we did have an incident where a student’s bike was taken from the bike stands during the school day. While this is disappointing, it does provide us with an opportunity to review our practices and strengthen our approach to safety. Just a reminder, if your child does ride a bike to school, a lock is strongly encouraged. An extendable gate which can be locked is also being purchased to safeguard our children’s property.

From the beginning of next term, for the safety of our students and community, the Riddell top gate and the hall-side gate entrances will be locked at 9:15am each day. All visitors will be required to enter through the front gate and report to the office. These gates will reopen at 2:45pm for afternoon access. We appreciate your support as we take these steps to ensure a safe and secure environment for all.

I would also like to extend a sincere thank you to our dedicated staff, who continue to go above and beyond in their planning, care, and commitment to ensure every child is set up for success.

We wish you all a safe, restful, and enjoyable holiday break, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed for Term 2.

Karaka Teddy Bears Picnic
|
The Karaka Whānau enjoyed a Teddy Bears picnic on this beautiful morning in Churchill Park. This was a fabulous way to end our "Celebrating our Teddies" week before we head into our holiday break.

On Friday, 24th April, we will be holding a special ANZAC Day commemorative assembly, led by the School Council.
Please feel free to join us on the school courts at 9.00 am
If you, or a member of your family, is a member of any of the services and would like to assist/participate in our assembly, please email kynanw@churchillpark.school.nz
If your family has medals, feel free to give these to your children to wear to the assembly.

School Payments
|
The School Donation remains at $525. Most parents will be entitled to claim a tax rebate - if you are a top tax rate payer a 33% reduction is available.
|
|
|
|
Please make school payments through your mykindo account. There are several methods to add funds to your account. Add regular topups if you'd like, then allocate to payments when you're ready, or just pay as you go. mykindo is also where you can order school lunches. Set up your kindo account.

|
NB: The school no longer has an EFTPOS terminal. All payments are to be made via kindo or DC, please. DC with your child's name to: 12-3027-0387931-000

Congratulations to Marcus in Room 16.
Marcus was the closest at guessing how many Easter eggs were in the jar. The actual number was 116.
Marcus was a very happy winner and is kindly going to share with his classmates at the end of the day.

Has your child grown out of their CPS uniform?
Please do remember donating it to the second hand uniform shop. But PLEASE ensure zips work, buttons are present, not too much paint/ vivid on shirts and blouses.

Stow Austin Studio based out of St Heliers School are starting a new junior jazz class on Wednesday afternoons for 5 - 6 years from Term 2.
